Prayer Bulletin – July 2021

Issue No. 7 • July 2021

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14:27

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7

Prayer is beyond any question the highest activity of the human soul. Man is at his greatest and highest when upon his knees he comes face to face with God. – Martyn Lloyd-Jones

    2. Please pray for another opportunity to meet with him with my sister to present to him the one verse evangelism.
    3. Please pray with me as I plan to invite a few church mates (Marilyn, Sally, Lori, Lanette, and Lisa) to learn together how to share the gospel using the materials I have.
  2. Tonga (by Paula Taufa)

Tonga is one of the few countries in the world that is still free from COVID-19. Government is working hard to make sure we don’t have a case. However, the economic implication is hitting the economy hard. We are very fortunate that the ministry is continuing to run with no restrictions.

    Key Scriptures/Promises:
The Navs ministry started in Tonga in 1978. Isaiah 60:22 was one of the verses that provided a foundation for the ministry: The least of you will become a thousand, the smallest a mighty nation. I am the LORD; in its time I will do this swiftly. Isaiah 49:6 also provided direction and encouragement: He says: It is too light a thing that you should be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob and to bring back the preserved of Israel; I will make you as a light for the nations, that my salvation may reach to the end of the earth.

    Ministry Background:
We have a variety of ministries like youth (Next Generation Ministry), Young Couples Ministry, Men and Women Ministry, Student Ministry, Prison Ministry, Christ@work Ministry (Professional ministry), as well as Community Ministry.

    Specific Prayer Requests and/or Praises:
    1. We will have our annual conference 3-5 September this year. We will be starting a new ministry, to be called Agape Ministry. This ministry will be targeting the poor and the marginalized. Please pray for this ministry, especially for a laborer to lead it, together with creative ideas, etc., to effectively run this new ministry.
    2. Tonga is facing a huge challenge with alcohol and drug addiction. It has negatively impacted society. Government is working hard on this, but we are still facing a lot of problems. Some of these people ended up in our Prison Ministry, and it is wonderful to see the healing in their lives. Please pray that God will give the Government ideas on combating this issue.
    3. Tonga is a nominal Christian country. The challenge that we face is proclaiming that the true gospel of salvation is by grace alone, in Christ alone through faith alone. Salvation cannot be earned. Almost everyone belongs to a church. They all attend church on Sunday. A lot of people wrongly believe that this is enough for salvation. Please pray that God will open their eyes which are blinded by Satan to see the truth of Scriptures.
    4. Pray that God will continue to raise up faithful men and women to be lifelong laborers, and that these laborers will see their ministries multiply.
    5. As women faithfully pray in their respective community every Sunday, they have become the powerhouse behind our ministry. Not only that, but they do a lot of Extended Time with the Lord. They invite their friends to pray, and many of these friends eventually end up in small groups to do Bible study together. Please pray that God will continue to bless this ministry.

Answered Prayers and Praises

“Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits— who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.” Psalm 103:1-5, NIV
