Introducing Our New Youth Development Facilitator: Andy Paul C. Palmes.
We are joyfully welcoming Andy Paul C. Palmes as one of our newest Youth Development Facilitators (YDF) in the Philippine Navigators.
Andy is the eldest of three siblings and grew up in a deeply faith-filled home, with both parents serving as pastors. Raised in a church environment and exposed to outreach missions from a young age, he developed an early understanding of God’s heart for people. At 11 years old, he received Jesus as his Lord and Savior and was baptized, beginning a journey of discipleship that shaped his convictions. Throughout his teenage years, Andy often felt “out of place” among his peers because of his strong biblical convictions—but this only deepened his desire to belong to a community that shared his passion for following Christ.
Andy pursued a Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English at West Visayas State University, where he encountered the Navigators ministry. There, he found the fellowship he had long prayed for—“kuyas” and “ates” who walked with him, discipled him, and helped him grow in faith. Through this community, Andy saw firsthand the transforming impact of campus ministry. He realized how vital it is for young Christians to have a support group that encourages them to stand firm in their faith and live out their convictions in an environment where their voices are often the minority.
In his senior year, Andy joined a Navigators camp and was introduced to the YDF Program. From that moment, he felt a strong calling to participate. After graduating in 2025—and despite financial challenges in his family—God continued to provide and affirm his next steps.
In September 2025, Andy officially joined The Philippine Navigators as a YDF for a one-year term. He was assigned to Iloilo City, serving on the campuses of Central Philippine University (CPU), Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT-U), and West Visayas State University (WVSU).
Andy shares his heart for the ministry:
“I am praying and planning to live in a boarding house near the campuses for easier access to the students I’ll be working with. It is my fervent desire to see young people grow in a strong relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. This generation is bombarded with false ideals and destructive lifestyles—may God help us make Him known, for He alone is the salvation the world needs. My vision is to see this generation brought from darkness to light, taught with the truth of the gospel, and grounded in their God-given purpose. I long to see new leaders, businessmen, and professionals rise up to lead our nation in righteousness.”
We praise God for Andy’s obedience, calling, and passion for the next generation. Please join us in praying for his ministry in Iloilo as he begins this new journey of serving, discipling, and raising up laborers for Christ.
