Personal and Ministry Background
I used to believe that religion and good works would earn me a ticket to
heaven until I studied the Bible. Through the help of some Navigators at
the University of the Philippines in Los Baños back in the 1970s,
I learned about having a personal relationship with God. It was indeed
Good News when I realized that God loves me too, and that He gave His
Jesus to die for my sins as well. Awed at such love, I asked Jesus to be
my Savior and Lord. Nurtured by a loving community of believers at UPLB,
I soon grasped the security of belonging to God and being a part of His
family. The faith lessons I received from my elders I passed on to the
women I later had the joy of leading to Jesus.
Through the years I count it a privilege to be on the Lord's team in
"making disciples of all nations" through the Navigators
ministry among students and professionals, first in the Philippines and
now in Cambodia. The miracles of changed hearts and lives, including
mine, I encountered while ministering to people have encouraged me to
continuously labor in the Lord's harvest field. And through it all, the
Lord has been faithful to meet me at my level of needs.
I am quite upbeat at what the Lord is doing in the midst of the
Philippine Navigators these days. United in hearts and minds we
strive to make this vision a reality in reliance upon God:
"We envision reproducing, loving communities living out and
proclaiming the Gospel of the Kingdom leading to the transformation of
lives and relationships, families and nations."
"I am blessed to bless" fuels my passion for God and His
people, and His work at this point in my life journey.
This year will see me spending six months in Cambodia to continue
planting the seed of the Gospel of Jesus in the hearts of my Khmer
friends and students. I eagerly await others to hop on board the
Navigators mission team headed to Cambodia.
