While in college back in 1976, a classmate shared the Gospel to Kim using Campus Crusade for Christ's 4SL. In a chapel, he prayed and invited Christ to live in his heart. From then on, he became aggressive in sharing the Gospel even in classroom settings. He was a practising Civil Engineer for 14 years before heeding the call of the Lord to go fulltime in ministry with the Navigators.

At present, Kim is helping coordinate God-focused Prayer and Cross-cultural Missions to all staff in the Navigators and to churches as well.

He is also one of the resource speakers of the Church Discipleship Ministry.

His wife Ces, is presently the Office Manager of the Navigators.

They have two children, Abigail and Timothy. Abigail graduated in UP Diliman BA Anthropology, and is presently a Youth Development Facilitator assigned in UP Mindanao, Davao City. On the other hand, Timothy is 3rd year BS Business Administration also in UP Diliman.
