Personal and Ministry Background
Jong and Tess came to know Christ through the Navigators during their campus days. Jong was invited by Eloi Toribio to a bible study group in Binangonan, Rizal when he was still in high school. Tess was introduced by Linda Relacion to a bible study group led by Flor Oclarit while still a freshman student at the University of San Carlos in Cebu City.
They both became National Trainees with the Navigators in Metro Manila during the 80's and were assigned at Ramon Magsaysay (Cubao) High School, called the Navigator's Club. Later, it was registered as an NGO, named Sibikong Kabataang Pinoy, or SIKAP Inc.
Jong and Tess got married in the year 1994 and were blessed with one lovely daughter named Joy Terese the year after.
A growing desire to know Christ and to make him known led them to commit themselves to a full-time ministry work and trust God to provide for their needs. Their involvement with the youth became a foundation for them in later life. The Lord led them to work among Chinese students in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 2003. Though it was only for a short period of time, it became the groundwork in pursuing the vision of reaching the world for Christ.
Open doors for short term missions arrived later in their lives between the years 2005-2008 in Cambodia. As the Lord leads, it is their utmost desire to serve God in the 10/40 window.
Right now, they are focusing on forming small biblical communities, namely, the Major Group (neighbors living in Jordan Park Homes), the Dad's Group, the Teacher's Group and the Parents and Teenager's Group.
