Personal and Ministry Profile

While Ed and Edith met for the first time in college, they both came from the northern part of Mindanao, the second largest island in the Philippines--situated in the southern part of the country. And while they came from very religious Catholic families, Ed in particular struggled with the deeper questions of life at an early age.

Both Ed and Edith came to know the Lord Jesus through The Navigators while studying Civil Engineering at Cebu Institute of Technology in the late 70s. Both were nurtured, trained and labored to reach out others while still students and they were mightily used by God to follow-up several classmates and friends. Ed’s aunt, who is also a fulltime Navigator staff, has been instrumental in both Ed and Edith’s relationship with Christ.

Ed and Edith were married in October 1988 and are blessed with three children, Aziel, Jotham and Edrei. Ed has led the Cagayan De Oro ministry since 1992 as an associate staff. In 1998 he decided to respond to God’s call for fulltime and has been a completely self-supported staff since then. Ed concentrates on students in three campuses, but also does follow-up ministry among young graduates and couples.
